Leisure travel boomed in 2022, with the demand for hospitality workers far greater than the available supply. Employers are actively hiring, including for the night auditor role.

Night auditors are responsible for end-of-day bookkeeping and account reconciliation. At many hotels, night auditor duties also include managing the front desk and assisting with guest services.

1. Customize your night auditor resume to the job description

For example, while some hotels separate the night auditor and night-shift front desk roles, most hotels combine the two into the “night auditor” job title. So if your target workplace combines the two job descriptions, ensure your work experience and skills section emphasize both your auditing and customer service skills.

Additionally, listing certifications on your resume also shows employers you can perform night auditing duties well. Examples of certifications relevant to night auditing include:

• Food and alcohol handling certifications, such as ServSafe (if the night auditor is also responsible for managing the hotel’s restaurant during the night shift).
