Skills for your banquet server resume
Banquet servers provide food and beverage service at special events, such as weddings, corporate functions, and award ceremonies. As the food server role is expected to grow by 9% between 2021 and 2031 (faster than the average of all occupations), now’s a great time to get a part-time or second job as a banquet server.
Responsible for events from start to finish, banquet servers set up dining areas, greet and seat guests, serve food and drinks, bus dishes, and help with cleaning and breakdown after events. A high school diploma or a GED is required for most banquet server jobs, as well as food and beverage handler certificates.
While you should list your education and certifications on your resume, employers are more interested in your resume’s work experience and skills section. Banquet servers need excellent soft and hard skills.
