How to write an Amazon resume
Whether you’re applying for a senior or entry-level position, your resume needs to convince hiring managers at Amazon that you’ve got the qualifications necessary to thrive in the role.
Below are three tips to help you write an Amazon resume that shows you’re a great fit for the company.

The best resume templates for 2026
One of the best ways to make your resume is by filling out one of our free resume templates. All our templates are designed by experts and free to download for Microsoft Word or Google Docs.
1. Check the job description for resume keywords
Adding keywords from the job description of the position you’re applying for to your Amazon resume is important for two reasons.
First, Amazon uses an applicant tracking system (ATS) to screen candidates. If you don’t write an ATS-friendly resume by including the right resume keywords, it might never reach the hiring manager’s desk.
Second, using keywords from the job ad ensures that your resume is tailored to the specific job you’re applying for.
In most cases, you should avoid writing a general resume. When you submit a generic resume, you miss the opportunity to show employers that you possess the specific skills and qualities they’re looking for.
Below is an example of an Amazon job description with resume keywords in bold:
- Helping support daily management of department duties by allocating labor, leading meetings, and communicating with internal and external suppliers
- Providing policy follow-up, attendance tracking
- Training associates and verifying SOP compliance
- Ensuring successful area performance through tracking, reporting and feedback of associate performance
- Addressing safety hazards within the work area
2. Add hard numbers to your work experience section
Your work experience section is one of the most important parts of your resume. It’s where you’ll show why your skill set and expertise makes you a strong candidate for your target position at Amazon.
But, simply listing your work history isn’t enough. Instead, quantify your experience by adding hard numbers to make your resume bullet points more impactful. Adding numbers and percentages to your resume gives employers a better sense of the scope of your work and its impact.
Here are three examples of work experience bullets written by candidates with prior experience in different roles at Amazon:
- Supervised and coached a team of 10 associates in workplace safety procedures
- Packed and prepared an average of 15 orders per hour
- Supervised and managed the processing, organizing, and retrieval of 500+ incoming stock daily
You can also look into resumes from your previous industries, like the operations manager resume listed above, for experiences and achievements that apply to you.
3. Use the best format for an Amazon resume
Which format you should choose for your Amazon resume depends on your work experience and the type of position you’re applying for. A chronological resume is a good choice for most candidates, because it lists your work experience in chronological order, starting with your most recent job title.
However, if you have a lot of gaps in your work history or you’re changing careers, then the functional resume format is a better option. A functional resume emphasizes your skills and abilities, rather than your work history.
If you have a considerable amount of industry experience and are applying for a management position at Amazon, opt for a combination resume. This type of resume combines elements of both the chronological and functional formats, giving employers a good overview of both your most relevant skills and notable accomplishments.
