Hard skills are industry-specific skills usually learned through either education, work experience, or training. Hard skills are typically broken down into two groups:
- Technical skills
- General know-how, or set of expertise relative to your job
For example, the technical skills expected of a computer programmer would be different coding languages, such as C++, Javascript, and Python, while “general know-how” would include knowing how to code, technical troubleshooting, and the computer programming process itself.
