Here’s what you put on your first resume with no experience:
- Header: A resume header should contain your name and contact details
- Resume introduction: Add three to four sentences at the top of your resume describing your key skills and experience
- Education: List your diplomas here, and any relevant coursework (if you need to fill space on your resume)
- Experience/skills: Because you have no experience, use a functional resume, a type of resume that showcases your hard and soft skills. You can list skills on your resume that you’ve gained from high school or college, volunteer work, and extracurricular activities
For example, if you wrote the script for a high-school theater club, you can list “Time Management Skills” on your resume, and say something like “Wrote 47-page script for my high-school theater club in 21 days.”
